The best money we have spent, is get our Dexter from Des Hausraben Shepherds.  My family and I are experiences German Shepherd owners.  He is our 4th German Shepherd. We brought home him as an 8 week old puppy in June of 2024. Within days of getting home there was a terrible thunder storm.  Dexter was completely unfazed by the thunder and lightning.  A few weeks later it was the 4th of July and we took Dexter to the fireworks show.  Rock solid, no fear!  Before bring home our puppy, Kolbie posted nearly weekly pictures and videos of the puppies.  Dexter was the easiest puppy we have ever brought home.  We drove him home to Norther Minnesota from  Missouri, zero car sickness. He was almost completely house trained at 8 weeks old. The most important qualities for us were health and temperament.  The testing that is done was so important for us to know the Dam and Sire were DM clear. There are many breeders much closer to us but the only breeder we will ever get German Shepherd’s from will be Des Hausraben Shepherds and Kolbie Ricketts.

We were so happy to find Des Hausraben Shepherds. Kolbie was able to put our worries aside from the moment we contacted her and letting us FaceTime our pups mom before the puppies were even here. She kept us updated when the puppies were born and the first 8 weeks of her life on Facebook. Kolbie does a phenomenal job pairing her pups with the right owner. We definitely understand and respect that she wanted to meet somewhere other than her home because people are crazy and I wouldn’t want a stranger to know where I live either. Kolbie also graciously offered that if we ever needed anything or had questions to reach out and she would help us. Saylor is our baby we brought home and she fits in perfectly. Kolbie is an amazing breeder. Kolbie takes so much time with her puppies. The special way that she crate trains, housebreaking, teaches them to walk on a leash. We are so happy with our puppy and how smart he is. Thank you Kolbie for our puppy. You are a Great Breeder and amazing person to work with. Smartest puppy we ever had.

Our experience with Des Hausraben has been nothing but the greatest. We received our little bundle of joy April 2023. We are located in NE Ohio an I was skeptical of buying a puppy from an online. Kolbie made the process so comforting and reassuring. Any time we wanted to call or FaceTime she made the time to show us the puppies and talk about her business before placing any deposit. She takes such good care at keeping the babies and all her dogs safe. We were unable to go to her farm for pick up, but it is for the safety of the pups and herself. We met at a public place and was able to pick our boy up. He has such high drive and personality. We have only had 1 accident in the house since having him. He basically came potty trained at 8 weeks old lol and now almost 2yrs old. He’s always had a clean report when at the vet. Strong and healthy. They say he is the best well bred German Shepherd they have seen around our area. When we decide to get a second pup we will be getting it from Kolbie!

I waited a long time to do this review so I could give my honest opinion. I honestly believe that DHR is an amazing business where they communicate very well and help as much as possible. Every time I had difficulties or questions Kolbie responded quickly and helped me through the process. I am very amazed how well her breeding is. You can definitely tell the difference between the work of her dogs compared to others. I’m glad to say her dogs definitely outshine others. DHR is an astounding place where I definitely recommend adopting your next puppy. 

Why’ll having the pleasure of raising my pup Taz from DHR, I can say that he is amazing! He is a big sweetheart. From my own experience, the dogs that DHS breeds does amazing with families, kids, and other animals. Let’s not forget to mention how gorgeous the dogs are!

I am beyond Impressed with Kolbie. She has put her whole heart and soul into raising her pups to ensure they go to their new homes with amazing genetics,temperate,drive, and intelligence. She is determined to choose the best pup for YOUR lifestyle and not Solely on which pup you think is the cutest(come on now they are all adorable how could you even choose based on just that 😂). ON TOP of all of that, which in itself is more than any “Breeder” I know or have looked into she incorporates “Puppy Culture” and “ENS”( Early Neurological Stimulation) and desensitizes and socializes them with all types of sounds, people (Adults and kiddos), animals (Cat/Kittens and Dogs in her household) which is only the tip of the Iceberg of everything she does for her pups to give them the best start in life!

Yes very long Book to read BUT it is worth it if you are looking for the best place to find your new family member with the confidence of knowing you will be getting a puppy with the absolute best start in life that will reflect for years to come.

We got Mika Saturday and everyday she amazes me with how Intelligent and loving she is. In TWO days, yes I said two she has already learned “Sit”, “Down” , and bonus/First Trick “Shake” . She was a champ on our long 7 hour road trip home never threw up and always went potty outside. Along with never making a peep and sleeping almost the whole way home. She is AMAZING for getting her nails trimmed,filed, and applying nose and Paw balm without a care. She is perfect on the leash and is ready to go when you want to go! 

I am hands down stuck with Kolbie going forward when we do decide down the line on if we want another family member knowing it will be as amazingly set up for Life as Mika was. You can tell with meeting Kolbie and talking to her that she is here for you and your new pup until the end. She truly cares about what she does and even with my 1Million messages to her directly about how thankful I am and progress updates she is always so responsive and kind ❤️ I truly hope that she continues this for years to come because she is extremely ethical and transparent and I have not seen anyone put in the work,compassion and drive that Kolbie shows and proves with her Puppies.

By far the best puppy buying experience I have ever had. My wife and I received frequent updates as well as lots of photos all the way up until we picked our boy up. We really couldn’t be happier!

The puppy we purchased from the pairing of Estra and Rocky has been incredible. His colors (sable) are constantly praised, his temperament is 5/5, he is intelligent, driven, tenacious, sweet, and constantly makes us challenge him more. Definitely recommend this pairing for a very well balanced, high drive dog that has fit in perfectly with our family of five.

Don't be surprised when you get your perfect puppy from Kolbie! She puts so much into insuring your puppies health, and gives much needed information that I had no idea about.
